Jerk of the Day: The Boston Bombers ( Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev)

Normally I would write a long thing about why this person is the jerk of the day but I think one year later to the day this photo speaks volumes about how not only I but how America and the world feels about the Boston Bombers.

The Stars Align For A Little Motivation

When we look to the stars, as in the famous, the way they live their lives, speak through their music, play their sport or are creative in the moment there is a message or something we can learn. I believe they are positive messages and I am going to look at athletes Lebron James and Lolo Jones, Singer Lady Gaga and Actor Jared Leto.

Lebron James, The Basketball Player
From being raised by a single mom in Akron,Ohio to first draft pick to two NBA Championships, four NBA most valuable Awards and two Olympic Gold Medals often referred to by many sport analysts as the best player in the NBA and also “King James”

Lebron Quotes
“Don’t be afraid of failure. This is the way to succeed.”
“I think, team first. It allows me to succeed, it allows my team to succeed.”

Lebron’s Message

Lolo “Lori” Jones, The Two Sport Olympiad
Also being raised by a single mother and going to various schools before going to LSU, three NCAA titles, 11 All-American titles and to represent the United States in the Summer Olympics in the 60m and 100m hurdles and in the  Winter Olympics in bobsledding.

Lolo’s Quotes
“I’m inspired by failure. The process of defeat – picking yourself back up again is the hardest thing in the world.”
“Greatness finds us by obstacles in front of us. I don’t look at hurdles as obstacles blocking my path but opportunities to overcome.”

Lolo’s Message

Lady Gaga, The Creative and Unique Singer
Born “Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta” better known by her stage name Lady Gaga is a creative and unique recording artist, activist, businesswoman, fashion designer and philanthropist. Billboard’s Artist of the Year and ranked 4th in the 100 Greatest Women in Music.

Lady Gaga’s Quotes
“You have to be unique and different to shine in your own way.”
“You define beauty for yourself; society does not define your beauty. Your spirit and faith define your beauty.”

Lady Gaga’s Message

Jared Leto
Raised by a single mom and an actor, singer and musician, philanthropist, most recently know for his role in Dallas Buyers Club and An Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Jared’s Quotes
“Dream big while you are asleep and even bigger while you Re awake.”
“Dream as big as you want to. It’s the cheapest thing you will ever do.”

Jared’s Message

So however the stars, politicians, musicians, actors or whomever they may be are portrayed just remember their message and how it can encourage, motivate and inspire you in your life so you can develop your own life message.

Out With The Nice…In With The Tude?

Focus on Family: The Moment When You Ask…..Where Did My Nice Child Go?

By: Tamara Cameron

Remember that day when the doctor announced either it’s a boy or it’s a girl and you knew all the pain you had endured carrying and delivering this human being came down to this moment when you saw this precious little human being. The little toes and fingers, the rosy cheeks, the toothless smiles, the cute little outfits were all worth it. How about when they learned how to crawl, walk, and talk and you were so proud you couldn’t wait to tell everyone about it. Their first day of school, the first time they got a boo boo and wanted you to kiss it better………all of these things were so wonderful right? Yah, well what the hell happened to that child? As you know from my other posts, I am a mother of 3 boys, and it hasn’t always been a lovey dovey relationship with us. At the beginning of their lives it was, but as they hit the teenage years there have been more days where I have wanted to catapult them across the room rather than give them a hug. Most parents would never say this, but I am not most mothers. That little loving child has now turned into mouthy know it all teenager with no regards and no respect for others.

They think they rule the world and have a sense of entitlement that makes me sick!! 40 Years ago you would have never ever thought a child would act the way most do now. The teenage years I think for most parents are the most dreaded!! If you are a mother of a toddler and you think the terrible 2’s and 3’s are bad, let me tell ya that they are a cake walk compared to teenage years. There are days when I think going to jail doesn’t sound like such a bad idea if it means I could smack some sense into one of these teenagers. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids, but I don’t like them when they are going through this stage. I absolutely understand now what my mother went through when I was a teenager and I feel bad for her lol. There is a book around that talks about how kids actually lose their minds when they are teenagers it is called YES YOUR TEEN IS CRAZY. It is a must read for all of us going through this turning point with our children… explains a lot. I am posting the link to it at the end of this article. Any of you out there experiencing the same thing as I am when dealing with teens? Love to hear your feedback.

A Trip To O”weed”ience School

Veterinarians are requesting pet owners to manage their marijuana, because more domesticated animals are showing up high and ill.

Dr. Billy Griswold, a vet at the Emergency Animal Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., told KCTV that he’s witnessed double the amount of cases of animals consuming marijuana over the past few years. KCTV reports that the upsurge in marijuana treatments “directly coincides” with the opening of medical marijuana dispensaries in the state, starting in December 2012.

The clinic has five facilities that have recounted upwards of 24 cases of pets eating weed every month.

The Art of the Promposal

Prom used to be the pinnacle of the high school experience (aside from graduation) and the buildup to the prom including the dress, the tux, the limo, and party planning etc. However, this new technological revolution that is occurring has officially added a new element to the prom process. With teens all around the world seemingly obsessed with getting famous or at least attaining that oh so precious 6 seconds of Vine fame, the art of promposals has been created.

It almost seems as if asking someone to the prom has become more important than going to the event itself and now all the teens care about is how they are going to be asked or how they are going to ask that special someone. It almost desensitizes the actual dance itself and while I personally feel as if this “promposal” fad has slightly tarnished the legacy of prom but nonetheless this trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Ive attached a couple of my personal favorite promposals below!
